Damir Odak

Damir Odak was born in Split on February 29, 1964. After graduating from the Zagreb Faculty of Economics in 1987, he started his business career as a senior research fellow at the Institute of Economics, Zagreb. From 1989, he worked as an advisor with the Ecosystem company and was responsible for establishing Trgovačka banka d.d. In 1990, he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Trgovačka banka d.d., which later on merged into Erste und Steiermärkische Bank d.d. Then he transferred to Zagrebačka banka d.d., where he held office as manager of the Commercial Banking Division from 1997 to 2000, when was appointed Member of the Bank’s Management Board responsible for corporate business and business operations development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He continued his career as Chairman of the Management Board of Nova banka d.d., which became OTP banka Hrvatska d.d. in 2005, where he stayed until summer 2011.

Pursuant to the decision of the Croatian Parliament, Damir Odak assumed office as Vice-Governor of the Croatian National Bank on July 17, 2012.

Vice-Governor Odak coordinates and manages the operations of the CNB Prudential Regulations and Bank Supervision Area.
