After finishing his studies at University of Economics in Bratislava, he started to work with the former Financial Market Authority (FMA) in the Department of Capital Markets in 2004. After the merger of the FMA with the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) in 2006, he joined the NBS where he became a senior regulatory expert on collective investment schemes. During his tenure at the NBS he participated in the development of number of regulatory initiatives in the financial market, such as several amendments to the Collective Investment Act, the implementation of MiFID or the introduction of the Law on Financial Intermediation and Financial Counselling. He regularly represented the NBS in the ESMA Investment Management Standing Committee as well as he represented Slovak Republic in European Council’s Working Groups. He was also active in a special EIOPA task force for designing future legislation on personal pension schemes (EIOPA – Task Force on Personal Pensions). Currently, he is the head of Securities Market and Pension Savings Regulation Section of the NBS and represents NBS at ESMA Board of Supervisors as the alternate BoS Member.
